Up Date from Surgeon's Office

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 21:22

On Tuesday, January 29th, Matt called UCSF to get in touch with the Total Pancreatectomy with Islet Auto Transplantation Program (TPIAT). They called him back on Wednesday the 30th and gave him some wonderful information. She explained the process of the TPIAT and what it involves. First, there will be several appointments that she would make on our behalf. We need to see the Surgeon, Andrew Posselt, MD, PhD Bariatric and transplant surgeon, Endocrinologists, Umesh Masharani, MBBS, Diabetes Specialist, Nutritionist, and any other necessary appointments.

Friday, February 1st Matt received a voicemail from the TPIAT Program to assure us she was working on the appointments and we should receive a call either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

March 18th, we have an appointment with the Nutritionist to determine if I need a nasojejunal (NJ) Tube placed. We are hoping that by us incorporating more food into my diet that I won’t need the tube.

We are cautiously excited! Please pray we get appointments this month and things move fast! And that I don’t need the NJ Tube!
