Just Me

I was thinking earlier this week about the fact that most of you don’t actually know me. So, I have decided to tell you 10 things about me.

1. My Faith-

a. I feel my faith is something that needs to be addressed. I may not have the “relationship” with God that others do. I don’t go to church. I had many years in a very toxic “church” and refuse to be a part of organized religion again. I have my own relationship, and I don’t feel like I need to justify it or act a certain way to prove it. God knows my heart, and that’s all that matters.

2. My Dream Job-

a. All I ever wanted to be when I was a kid was a wife and a mother. I have to say, I’m pretty dang good at it. However, my ultimate dream job is working at a women’s shelter for those who have been abused. I have a huge heart for those who have been hurt.

3. What I Always Wanted-

a. The thing I’ve always wanted my whole life, is a family. When I was 12 my family was ripped apart. I have strived very hard to give my children a safe, happy, healthy home. We are not perfect in anyway, but my children and husband always know, home is a safe place and no matter what we are a family.

4. License at 19-

a. I didn’t get my license till I was 19, in fact I failed the written part 3 or 4 times. I honestly can’t remember, I just know it was A LOT! I had no freedom as a teenager. When Lincoln turned 15, I wanted to make sure he was going to have the freedom a teenager should have. We will do the same with Kodi. Our kids are absolutely amazing and have never given us any reason to not trust them.

5. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-

a. A few years ago, I wanted to make a change with my career path. I’ve always wanted to help people. I thought the best way to do that was joining the medical field. My first job as a CMA was in Neurosurgery. It was amazing. I learned so much and honestly miss it. Unfortunately, I was an On- Call employee and I wasn’t getting enough hours. My next position was in Orthopedics. I was a Wound Care Specialist, it was absolutely awesome! One of my favorite things to do is watch pimple popping videos. Being able to work on wounds, fresh wounds was heaven. I only worked there a few months before I was hit with all these medical issues.

6. Favorite Movie- Hope Floats

a. My favorite movie of all time is Hope Floats. I could sit on the couch and watch it over and over. Although I love this movie my current favorite is Midnight Sun. I highly recommend both movies. I’d love to sit back with some popcorn, girlfriends and just watch these together.

7. Jewelry Making-

a. I recently found a new hobby that I have fallen in love with! I am now making Necklaces, and bracelets. They will soon be available to purchase in the Shop. All pieces are carefully created with time, enjoyment, and love. I can’t stop looking online for new charms, or pendants. I can’t wait to share them all with you!

8. Foster Care-

a. When I was 17, I was taken into Child Protective Custody, and placed in a foster home. I know there are many horrible stories, but I have to say my experience was wonderful. I had the most loving family. I am very happy that I am still in contact with them.

9. Favorite Animal

a. My favorite animal is a duck. I think they are so cute, and adorable. When Matt asked me if I could be any animal what would I be? Without hesitation I blurted out a duck. He got a pretty good laugh at it.

10. Favorite Candles & Smells

a. My absolute favorite candles are any kind of apple. The smell is so comforting and relaxing. One smell that I have loved ever since I can remember is cigarettes and whisky breath. Trust me, I know it’s weird.

Well these are just a few things about me. Thank you all for reading!
